Clarification in Road Rage Conflicts Article
A poorly written law necessitates additional clarification, please take note.
This is an addition clarification to the March 21 article Road Rage Conflicts. Note the added bold-type paragraph below. The laws regarding the carrying of long gun rifles in vehicles are ambiguously worded and create an interpretation which could very well result in a prosecution due to a mistake. Which your local jurisdiction might assert as illegal. It’s better to play it safe and save yourself from learning the hard way.
It is my opinion that if a person is at least 18 years of age, does not have a conceal carry license and is not a qualified person to avail themselves of the unlicensed conceal carry law, and is not a prohibited person, they can have a legal rifle per section 1 of subsection (b) which states, “Other than a handgun” being carried for lawful use. (Please note the paragraph in bold italic type below)
