Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for October 5-12, 2025
Sunday's Comprehensive Fishing Article for Florida's Freshwater Anglers
Good Full Moon Fishing Next Three Days
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of October 5, 2025, gives anglers a weak to moderate strength full moon phase and if today’s weather forecast holds true this week, we will have traditional rainy season conditions, however slightly cooler temperatures will occur over the next three days.
The best fishing factor this week will be the wind speeds. Wind will be out of the east all week but daily high speeds today through Thursday will be in the fifteen-mph range by midafternoon. Friday through next weekend speeds drop to the ten to twelve mph range from the east northeast. Pressure change will not be a factor.
The sun-to-cloud ratio today the Monday is predicted to be forty-sixty. Tuesday through the remainder of the week a seventy-thirty ratio is forecasted with perhaps an exception on Friday when a fifty-fifty condition is predicted. And thunderstorms are predicted every day mostly in the afternoons but Monday, Thursday, Friday and next Sunday thunderstorm activity is forecasted from midmorning through the evening hours.
Monday night the full moon occurs and Wednesday the moon arrives at the orbit perigee which means the second half of the full moon seven-day phase will be better than the first half. And it should be noted that the daily lunar effect will be improving due to the lunar high occurring next Sunday. Next week’s last quarter moon phase will be exceptionally good, with most fish feeding primarily during the sunrise/overhead and sunset/underfoot solunar periods occur.
Major Solar-Lunar Period: Today the moon is underfoot at 11:59 a.m. producing a feed rating of six to seven from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Daily the underfoot moon occurs later by an average of fifty-four minutes and remains at the same feed rating until Wednesday when a four to five feed rating occurs from 1-4 p.m. Thursday through next weekend the feed rating will remain unchanged as the underfoot moon occurs during the mid to late afternoon hours.
Minor Solar Lunar Periods: Today the moonrise occurs at 6:13 p.m. producing a feed rating of three to four from 5-7:30 p.m. Daily the moonrise occurs later by an average of forty-five minutes for the next four days and one hour later the last three days of the week. The feed rating will decline to a two to three rating during the second half of the week.
A second minor period happens today when the moonset occurs at 5:36 a.m. producing a feed rating of three from 4:30-6:30 a.m. Daily the moonset occurs later by an average of sixty-six minutes and begins to improve in feed rating Monday when a four rating will occur from 6-8 a.m. The feed rating will improve to a five rating during the second half of the week when it begins to harmonize with the solar noon period.
A third minor period happens today when the moon is overhead today at midnight producing a feed rating of three from 11 p.m.-1:30 a.m. Daily the overhead moon occurs later by an average of fifty minutes and remains at the same feed rating through Thursday. Friday a feed rating of two occurs from 3-5 a.m. But the feed rating will improve to a three to four rating next Sunday due to harmonizing with the sunrise period during the last quarter moon phase.
Prime Monthly Periods: October 5-9 weak full moon, 19-22 weak new moon, November 2-9 super full moon, 19-21 very weak new moon, December 1-7 very strong super full moon, 18-20 extremely weak new moon.
