A Strong Lunar Effect Improves Fishing

The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of September 14, 2025, gives anglers a strong last quarter moon phase for the first half of the week and the new moon phase for the second half of the week. Today a strong moon will improve both the sunset and sunrise fishing periods.

An ideal rainy season weather forecast promises predominant sunshine today through Tuesday but Wednesday through Friday overcast and heavy cloud cover will occur. However, an ideal northeast wind will provide some cooling Wednesday through next weekend, producing daily high speeds in the ten to twelve mph range. And an ideal sun-to-cloud ratio of fifty-fifty is forecasted for next weekend’s new moon.

All fishing factors considered, bright sunshine will create a better-than-average fishing experience today through Tuesday and Friday through next Sunday the new moon and improved weather conditions will produce excellent fishing during the midday hours. And it should be noted that the lunar high occurs Monday which will create a very high lunar effect which causes greater numbers of fish to feed at the same time for long durations.
