Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for January 12-19, 2024
Sunday's Complete Comprehensive Fishing Article for Florida's Freshwater Anglers
Good Fishing Today and Next Weekend
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of January 19-26, 2025, gives anglers a weak last quarter moon phase and more true winter weather which will keep temperatures where they’ve been for the past three to four weeks and produce heavy clouds and rainfall during the midweek.
All fishing factors considered, anglers will experience the best fishing today due to pre-front conditions which began yesterday and will continue today, albeit with twenty mph southwest winds. A twenty-degree high pressure cold front will produce ten to fifteen mph winds, heavy cloud with rain Tuesday through Thursday.
Barometric pressure will climb almost 0.40 in hg today through Monday midday which will force fish upward into shoreline feeding areas, but I doubt much feeding activity will occur until the midweek when fish have finished adjusting to the extreme pressure change.
With the weak lunar effect occurring fish will be mostly feeding when their bodies temperatures reach the daily high mark between 2-5 p.m. But with low light fish will be away from protective cover and not feeding at the same time which means you’ll have to work longer to find the fish which must feed to survive due to not having previous successfully fed.
Next weekend’s weather forecast promises to produce ideal fishing conditions but the moon’s effect will be at the lowest point of the month so fish will be taking their environmental feeding cues from the daily solar periods mostly feeding from solar noon through the late afternoon hours when water temperatures are warmest.
