Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for October 19-26, 2025
Sunday's Comprehensive Fishing Article for Florida's Freshwater Anglers
New Moon and Cooler Temperatures Improve Fishing
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of October 19, 2025, gives anglers a weak new moon phase and a fall weather forecast. All fishing factors considered, cooler temperatures will certainly cause fish to become more active as oxygen rates improve during the early morning hours and peak well above 5 ppm during the afternoon hours.
Bright sunshine and ideal wind speeds are forecasted which if true, will greatly improve the new moon bite Monday through Wednesday. However, the lunar effect will be weak over the next ten days as the moon arrives at its orbit apogee and lunar low position during the second half of the week. Therefore, the today through Wednesday will produce better fishing than Thursday and Friday.
And if you have not been trying red colored baits, you should start. Red Shad bait colors have been producing very well recently while the green colors have produced very little success. Combining red with gold, silver or black depending on water clarity, have all yielded very good results.
