Anglers Challenged by Winter Fishing Pattern
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the last week of November gives anglers a weakening moon during the first half of the week and the beginning of the next new moon during the second half of the week. And I think it’s safe to say that a winter season weather pattern has arrived. A second cold front is predicted to enter the state Friday. If this trend continues bass anglers can expect an early spawn.
All fishing factors considered, anglers will have to adjust to the challenging conditions of cooler water temperatures and slower feeding action. Fish are now going to be affected by atmospheric pressure change which causes them to move up into shallow feeding areas for half a week and back to deeper areas for the second half of the week. High- and low-pressure system will greater increase ‘fish adjustment activity’ so if anglers master the timing of the winter weather changes, they’ll reap the rewards.
The challenge is to present your bait when fish are forced to adjust by the timing of the winter weather pattern. And remember, changing weather factors always trump lunar factors when it comes to when fish feed.
