Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for March August 17-24, 2025
Sunday's Comprehensive Fishing Article for Florida's Freshwater Anglers
My apology for the late posting today. Had a night self-defense tactical training class which ended later than anticipated.
Best Fishing Days of the Month Have Arrived
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of August 17, 2025, gives anglers the new moon phase, which begins Wednesday, and typical rainy season weather forecast. All fishing factors considered, anglers should be prepared today and for the next two days, to find active fish deeper than they were last week.
Atmospheric pressure dropped yesterday enough to trigger fish adjustment activity toward deeper areas. A 0.12 in hg pressure drop over a twelve-hour period occurred during the midday yesterday and pressure will drop about 0.05 in hg today, forcing fish to adjust deeper yet. Therefore, if you don’t find fish where you’ve been finding them, go deeper and if that doesn’t yield better results, downsize your bait because it’s very likely they feed during the initial pressure drop twelve to eighteen hours ago.
The lunar high occurs Monday which means the moon will be at full strength, which will cause the overhead moon period to be much better than usual. So, wherever you’ve been catching fish, expect them to be a little deeper and very active---all the fish which didn’t successfully feed during the pressure drop yesterday will be feeding aggressively.
The best fishing month of the month has arrived. Are you ready to catch some fish?
