Bright Sunshine is the Key to Fishing Success

The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of July 13, 2025, gives anglers the last two days of the full moon seven-day phase and during the second half of the week the last quarter moon. A rainy season weather forecast predicts enough cloud-cover to negatively affect photosynthesis which means less oxygen production, which translates into less feeding activity.

All fishing factors considered for this week, anglers best fishing period will be in the hours after periods of bright sunshine. Oxygen production is the name of the game during the Florida rainy season. The lunar influence will play a part but if there’s not enough oxygen to enable digestion the fish will not have the physical ability to feed normally.

It should also be noted that during bright sunshine in the mid to late morning hours and early afternoon hours, the west, northwest, areas of the lake will have more active fish than the east and southeast areas due to the rising sun triggering oxygen production sooner.

Extended period of bright sunshine is the key to successful fishing efforts. And secondarily, fishing the deeper cooler oxygenated vegetation beds increases the chances of getting strikes.
