Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for October 12-19, 2025
Sunday's Comprehensive Fishing Article for Florida's Freshwater Anglers
Good Last Quarter Moon Fishing This Week
The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of October 12, 2025, gives anglers a strong last quarter moon phase and a weather forecast which will produce fall season characteristics rather than rainy season characteristics.
A strong lunar effect will greatly improve fishing during the sunset and sunrise periods during the first half of the week. Fishing will also be further enhanced by declining temperatures, an ideal fishing wind, and some modest atmospheric pressure change which is predicted to occur during the morning and early afternoon hours.
The second half of the week the underfoot period will be the better fishing period of the day. Winds will be ideal and pressure change will force fish to adjust which will cause greater numbers of fish to actively feed for longer periods. And the new moon seven-day phase begins Saturday so you can look forward to some great midday fishing next weekend.
Bright sunshine with very little cloud covers every day this week will greatly improve the dissolved oxygen rates, which will in turn cause greater numbers of fish to feed at the same time when they feed during the strong daily solunar periods. And it should be noted that this week winds will be out of the east which will cause fish to migrate eastward as they follow the wind-driven food chain.
