Best Fishing Days Occur Today Through Tuesday.

The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of August 24, 2025, gives anglers the last three days of a fairly strong new moon phase and typical rainy season weather forecast. All fishing factors considered, a weakening lunar effect will cause fish to take their feeding cues from environmental factors such as oxygen production after several hours of bright sunshine, which is forecasted to occur at a fifty-fifty sun-to-cloud ratio beginning Tuesday.

Today and Monday heavy overcast conditions are forecasted and with the fairly strong lunar effect produced by the new moon which occurred last night, fish will primarily feed during the overhead period early this afternoon. However, expect fish to remain deeper where cooler temperatures hold more oxygen. And it should be mentioned that ideal wind speeds of twelve mph or slightly better will occur during the major period of the day. The rest of the week wind speeds might climb to six or perhaps seven mph.

The moon is currently at mid strength in its twenty-eighty cycle. It’s heading away from the solar energy path and orbiting toward the point of apogee, which occurs Friday. So, expect fish to feed best after several hours of bright sunshine which if the forecast results in being true this week, will occur Tuesday through Friday.
