Best Fishing Today and Monday, Remainder of the Week Will Be Tough

The Florida Freshwater Fishing Forecast for the week of September 7, 2025, gives anglers the second half of a medium strength full moon seven-day phase and a rainy season weather forecast which predicts more clouds than sun which if true will not be good for fishing.

All fishing factors considered, an unfavorable sun-to-cloud ratio will cause less dissolved oxygen rates in all bodies of water if the current extended weather forecast results in being true this week. And wind speeds will be mild for the first half of the week, but an ideal fishing wind of nine t- twelve mph is predicted for the second half of the week.

Daily rainfall is predicted as thunderstorms develop in the mid to late morning hours. Heavy overcast conditions will dominate the second half of the week. However, daily high temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid-eighty-degree range. It should be noted that some water bodies could experience ‘fish kill’ events during the 4-8 a.m. hours when dissolved oxygen levels are at a daily low rate. The early morning bite will suffer this week if the overcast conditions prevail every day this week.

Since the forecast predicts bright sunshine during the midmorning to early afternoon hours today and Monday, I’ll predict that the best fishing days will occur during the underfoot moon period today and tomorrow. Hopefully the weatherperson gets the forecast wrong and bright sunshine and oxygen production remain high enough for fish to function normally Wednesday through next Sunday.
